Welcome to the home for multi-award winning, Boston-based family music performer, Vanessa Trien, and her band of musical friends, lovingly called The Jumping Monkeys! Packing concert halls, preschool fundraisers, libraries and outdoor venues with dancing kids and families, she is known for highly interactive and energetic shows, featuring plenty of group singing and movement.

The Jumping Monkeys regularly includes Adam Michael Rothberg on lead guitar/mandolin, Fabio Pirozzolo on percussion, and Richard Gates on bass. Together with Vanessa, they create a joyful, acoustic instrument and harmony-rich folk/pop/world sound all their own.

With Vanessa's four Parents' Choice Award-winning albums of original songs based on her years of teaching preschool music and parent-child music classes and, more importantly, on her 13 years of parenting her two kids, she brings a warmth and connection with audiences that makes her shows extra special. New York City native, Vanessa Trien has been performing music for kids and families for more than a decade with her lively band the Jumping Monkeys. Her music for kids and families has won a NAPPA (National Parenting Publications Association) Award, an Academics' Choice Award, and four Silver Parents' Choice award.
Vanessa packs concert halls, preschool fundraisers and outdoor venues with dancing kids and families. She is known for highly interactive shows, featuring plenty of group singing and movement. One of her most requested songs is "Tickle Monster", has families tip toe-ing around and then, on cue, tickling each other!
In addition to performances, Vanessa also teaches early childhood music in preschool and pre-K classrooms and has taught parent and child group Music Together classes for ten years. Vanessa moved to Boston to attend Harvard's Graduate School for Education and decided to call it home, diving into the Cambridge folk music scene and festival production first, and then embracing with her whole heart the wild and wonderful world of children's music!

Hi everyone! Missing those outdoor summer family concerts? I sure am! Well, we are going to try to create the feeling of one virtually! It's time for a virtual Robbins Library summer family concert! On Thursday, August 6, 6:30-7:30 pm, join me, along with Jumping Monkeys percussionist, Fabio Pirozzolo, and harpist extraordinaire, Michelle Otis, for a virtual, live, interactive show, right on the Robbins Library Facebook page! Whether you're watching indoors or outdoors, make sure you have your dancing feet ready!

North Kingstown, RI - Our One Live Show of the Summer!!! At North Kingstown Town Beach!
This is our one live show of the summer!!! All the rest have been canceled or turned virtual due to an abundance of caution during these challenging times. But this one is going live, and while I hesitated to say yes to doing a live show this year, I agreed to this one because, in addition to being one of my favorite venues of the summer season, it also seemed like one of the safest. A large, tree-filled lawn next to a beautiful, breezy town beach, with lots of open space and breezy air. We hope you'll bring your bathing suit, picnic dinner and dancing feet for some live family entertainment with us! Free and open to the general public!
